Born and Raised in Chicago , Glen "Bono" Saunders was exposed to some of the
greatest blues and jazz players of all time, most notably was Buddy Rich.
BONO received his first drum lesson from Buddy at the age of 5 while he was
on the road with his father Lee Saunders (sound engineer). Growing up and
jamming at The Checkered Board Lounge as a teenager with Chicago favorites:
Buddy Guy, Jr. Wells and Koko Taylor helped put Bono in the forefront of the
Chicago music scene. Bono did his time at Roosevelt University as a Business
Music Major in the 90's and headed to Keller Texas and began performing live
and recording with Chuck Rainey (Steely Dan/Motown Bassist). Bono also spent
3 years with rock and soul recording artist Maylee Thomas and touring as far
away as Croatia as well as showing up on the same stage as Hank Williams Jr.
In addition to steady dates with his band "Drive" and Tropix, Bono currently
tours with national jazz recording artist Joseph Vincelli. As for Rock, Bono
is currently working with recording artist Bentli (Blackwood Ave) and
continues to do supporting performances on the big stages with national acts
such as Lover Boy, The Dan Band and Bowling for Soup with the The Russ Martin
Show Band. Bono Entertainment was established in 2007 and manages over 70
dates a month for fellow performers.
